Naman Govil is a Senior GPU Architect at Nvidia, based in Santa Clara, California, with extensive expertise in hardware and software architectural optimization for Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and High-Performance Computing workloads. Over his six-year tenure at NVIDIA, he has led numerous pioneering efforts in improving and addressing compute scheduling and resource utilization challenges in modern GPUs. These include enhancing the GPU compute scheduling pipeline to reduce kernel dispatch latency and improve compute throughput and advancing the GPU CUDA programming model to enable locality and data reuse using thread block clusters. Naman holds a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA and a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIIT Hyderabad, India. His innovative contributions to the field are underscored by several patents and acclaimed publications, showcasing his leadership in cutting-edge GPU technology.
