Fernando Macedo

Software Engineer @EA Sports

I am a Software Engineer with a passion for creating exceptional gaming experiences. With over nine years of industry experience, I have worked on a variety of projects, ranging from AAA titles to mobile games.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with renowned companies such as EA Sports, Relic Entertainment and Miniclip. During my time at Miniclip, I took on the role of Senior Software Developer and served as the tech lead for a talented team of developers. As the technical decision-maker, I led the team in adopting new technologies, managing tech debt, and achieving project goals. I also played a pivotal role in the success of SoccerStars, a highly popular mobile sports game with millions of installs and positive reviews.

At Relic Entertainment, I played a role in addressing post-launch feedback for Company of Heroes 3, where I identified and resolved issues, optimized gameplay, UI, and multiplayer aspects, and contributed to the maintenance of live service features.

I am currently working at EA Sports, contributing to the FC franchise of games starting from FC 24. I began my journey with the company as part of the Live team, where I was responsible for managing bugs and deployment of new content to the game. After gaining valuable experience in this role, I transitioned to the Continuous Development team, a specialized group focused on creating and implementing features that address player feedback and evolving challenges related to FC Ultimate Team throughout the game's live service cycle.
