Senior Director of Engineering @ Cloudflare

Celso Martinho is a software engineer, maker, and entrepreneur. In 1995, he and his colleagues at the University of Aveiro created SAPO, a web portal that became the leading Internet property in Portugal. He worked at SAPO, later acquired by Portugal Telecom, for over 20 years, developing new products and services for the web, media, infosec, and telco industries.

In late 2015, he founded Bright Pixel, an early-stage investment fund focused on Internet security and Tech retail startups, and a consulting and technology team that helped young entrepreneurs transform their ideas and bootstrap them into companies. 

Celso was also the founder of Codebits, later renamed Pixels Camp, Portugal's largest hackathon and technology conference from 2007 to 2021, and brought the Lisbon Maker Faire, a convention of do-it-yourself enthusiasts, to Portugal, organizing it during the first four editions together with Pavilhão do Conhecimento.

In 2020, as a Senior Engineer Director, he joined Cloudflare, a company that provides a range of services aimed at improving the security, performance, and reliability of websites and online applications.
